I am a Hardware Engineer based in Bangalore with 8 years of experience working as PCB Layout engineer providing technical guidance in the development, implementation, and maintenance of PCB designs. I am also skilled in preparing design documentation.I have detail understanding of the PCB design and fabrication process.
I have in-depth knowledge of PCB Design, analysis & design verification, RF and FPGA designs, Components selection, BOM optimization, PCB layout, schematic capture, library management, and Production test. I also worked on varies tools and gained proficiency in KiCAD, Altium Designer and OrCAD.
BLE, FPGA, Debugging tools
Designed PCB's and production jigs. Used Kicad and Altium designer tools for all these boards. Some of the boards are Blip, Blipboy Shield, Paper, Bluey, hackaBLE, Bumpy, iCE Bling, Indrium PI-hat, Thermalert, and iCE-Edge.
PSCO6, Multiple cameras connector
Multiple camera triggering based on the external trigger and the mobile app. Used for photography.
nRF52832, GSR, Heart Rate Monitor Sensor, 6-axis accelerometer
Designed a fitness tracker for a client with functionality like heart rate monitoring, Galvanic Skin Response(GSR). Power-optimized components selection, schematic and PCB Layout.
The smallest beacon for retail security.
BLE beacon size was 13mm in diameter. It has a 3-axis accelerometer and a tripwire system. If the accelerometer detects motion or the tripwire detects removal. The project had very constrained requirements for component selection, routing, and production/testing.
BLE, Accelerometer, Vibration motor, Power optimization
nRF52832 based smart ID card for safety purpose incorporated vibration motor, accelerometer for fall detection and button for sending the trigger to the server and app.
ESP32 USB dongle
Designed compact PCB with EPS32 WiFi Module and low-power Temp/ Humidity sensor. The ESP module was heating up the PCB, the challenge was make optimized thermal management.
BLE based patient monitoring system
Designed two nRF52932 based PCB’s. Worked with firmware engineers for developing and testing the prototype. Provided guidelines to the mechanical engineer to develop the enclosure
nRF52, BLE, low power, 1.5inch e-paper display, CryptoAuthentication
Developed a device for retail supply chain company for tracking and logging data of pallets and goods transported overseas. Used IMU, BLE gateways to accomplish this.
PIC16, Hall effect, EEPROM
Designed Prototypes for an automotive client, who needed to calibrate fifth wheel coupling using hall effect sensors. We did the hardware design and firmware.
STM32, CAN, I2C, 1-Wire
This was for an automotive industry client, who needed to communicate to multiple sensors and EEPROM over CAN. We did hardware and firmware for translating CAN to 1-wire to I2C transactions.
"Siva is the PCB wizard in Electronut Labs. He very skilled at PCB designing, debugging, and product development. He is very quick to respond if I need his help, working with Siva is great. I have learned a lot from him."
Vaishali Pathak
Firmware Engineer, Electronut Labs
"I’ve been working with Siva since 2016. A hardworking and dedicated engineer, Siva has all the skills required to bring a piece of hardware to life. He is an expert in multi-layer PCB design, and well versed with tools such as Altium Designer and Kicad. Siva is very hands-on, and a great addition to any team that’s trying to build hardware."
